Mackinac: Behind the Scenes of History In-Person
Assistant Chief Curator of the Dearborn Historical Museum and former Mackinac Island resident Andrew Kercher will present the history of Mackinac Island. Dressed as a 1770s British fur trader, he will chronicle the area’s Anishinaabe settlements, European fur trading posts, military outposts and occupation, and transition to a vacation destination. Kercher will also describe his work as an historical interpreter and life in winter, when the island is devoid of tourists.
